Tell President Obama that autism and disability funding shouldn't be options for debt-reduction.

With America's debt crisis seemingly at an all-time high, now is the time to place extra importance on the significance of disability funding. Key lawmakers and officials have stated that nothing is off the table when it comes to funding cuts, and that's why we need to stand up now for those who need assistance the most.

Autism research, treatment, and services funding should remain non-negotiable as possibilities for debt-reduction. The reality is, those with autism already face uphill battles when it comes to receiving assistance and insurance coverage for the astronomically expensive — and in some cases, lifetime — treatment.

Please sign your name asking President Obama to continue to emphasize the importance and necessity of autism and disability services.

The Petition:

Dear President Obama,

I am hoping that, throughout the debt-reduction process, you will keep autism therapy and treatment funding off the table from being cut from the federal budget.

Autism therapy can cost families upwards of hundreds of thousands of dollars throughout a lifetime, and the fact is, most families could never handle this financial burden on their own. That's why it's so important that the government continue to provide funding for its treatment.

I understand the need to eliminate debt, but I do hope you keep our citizens with autism in mind when making key decisions.

Sincerely,
