Ask President Obama to dedicate more efforts toward supporting families living with autism.

Autism is a developmental disorder that affects one in 68 children. Those are frightening odds, and in order to provide assistance and care to children and families living with autism, we need to incite the government for help and raise awareness for this important cause.

Occurrences of autism are only increasing, and something needs to be done. Families touched by autism need our support. Though autism awareness and advocacy is on the rise, there is still much that remains unknown about this elusive disorder. That's why we need stronger governmental participation to continue to fight on behalf of children and families.

Sign the petition urging President Obama to dedicate more time and resources toward the fight against autism and to supporting our families who are living with it now.

The Petition:

Dear President Obama:

I am writing on behalf of an important and sensitive matter. Autism is a developmental disorder that affects one in 68 children. Children with autism often have difficulties having to do with communication and social interaction, and autism can severely affect a child's development in many key areas of growth.

Autism treatment and coverage can also be very difficult to come by in the current political climate. Many insurance providers don't include autism care in their coverage plans. Some families are carrying the burden of expensive autism treatments all on their own.

Autism is a reality in our country, and instances are only increasing. We need you to stand up and advocate for families dealing with this difficult disorder.

Thank you for your time.
