High school students distribute food for shelters

HCHS volunteersHouston Christian High School Community Volunteers gave a hand during the March 2012 food distribution to local animal shelters. Austin Matthews, Kai Mosvold, Carson Taff, Caroline Mitchell, Savahanna Head. Kaylee Taff, and Elizabeth Mosvold helped Rescue Bank sort and distribute dog and cat food, cat litter, puppy chow, and kitten food.

"Each quarter, [the students] perform five hours of volunteer service within the community," said Cynthia Nesser of Rescue Bank. " They have plans for future volunteering with us."

This particular distribution sent much needed supplies to Adopt Rescue Dogs/Legacy Ranch, AURORAS RESCUE, Barrio Dogs, Best Friends Furever, Clipped Ear Cat Sanctuary, Corridor Rescue Inc., East Texas Paws, Inc., Feral Feline Retreat, Friends of BARC, Friendswood Animal Advocates, LMN Feline Rescue, Lone Star Pyrs and Paws, P.U.P.S. – Prevent Unwanted Pets, Paws Haven Rescue, Poodle Rescue of Houston, Project K-911, PUP SQUAD ANIMAL RESCUE (PSAR), Purr Paws Rescue, SAVE OUR STRAYS FORT BEND, Second Chance Pets. Shaggy Dog Rescue, Southern Comforts Animal Rescue, Texas Great Pyrenees Rescue, Tri-State Bloodhound Rescue, and Wags to Whiskers of Texas, Inc.

GreaterGood.org supports Rescue Bank's efforts to connect manufacturers and others wanting to donate pet food with the shelters that need it by underwriting transportation and other logistical costs through the "Click Here To Give" program at The Animal Rescue Site and the "Pallets of Pet Food" Gift That Gives More.
